Chinese Chow Mein

Preparation

 

  • Open Packet and allow to set for 5 mins at room temperature.
  • Bring water to boil in large saucepan.
  • Place noodles in boiling water for 15 secs and drain.
 
 
Cooking
 
 Chinese Chow Mein
  •  Combine the beaten egg and cornflour.
  • Add beef and coat well with mixture.
  • Add oil to heated wok.
  • Brown ginger, onions, garlic and stir fry beef for 1 to 2 mins.
  • Add soy sauce, chicken stock, noodles and cook for a further 3 mins.
  • Garnish with spring onions.

 Quick and Easy Chow Mein
  •  In a wok, add oil and slowly brown Chow Mein evenly on both sides then set aside.
  • In a preheated wok, add oil and toss in spices till aroma is apparent, toss in meat and vegetables until cooked.
  • Make a gravy sauce using vegetable stock and cornflour and serve with noodles.
  • Garnish with coriander.

Chow Mien Noodles

Main Dish:

1 pound mung bean sprouts

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, 7 to 8 ounces each

 

Marinade:

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 teaspoon soy sauce

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 small piece (less than 1 teaspoon) cornstarch

 

Sauce:

1/4 cup water or low-sodium chicken broth

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce
